Pear and Ginger Loaf
Ingredients

1 egg 
- 
1/3 cup brown sugar 
- 
90g butter, melted 
- 
1/3 cup golden syrup 
- 
1 1/4 cup self raising flour 
- 
1 tsp baking soda 
- 
2 tsp ground ginger 
- 
2 tsp ground nutmeg 
- 
1 tsp cinnamon 
- 
1/2 cup boiling water 
- 
1 pear, sliced 
Instructions
- 
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a loaf tin with baking paper. 
- 
Beat the eggs and sugar until blended. 
- 
Mix golden syrup and butter, then combine well with the egg mix. 
- 
Sift in the dry ingredients, mix well. 
- 
Stir in boiling water and pour mixture into prepared loaf tin. 
- 
Top with sliced pears and bake for 45 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
