Lentil Bolognese
This lentil bolognese is a brilliant plant-based meal for your baby. The lentils provide iron and give it a lovely hearty texture, and there are plenty of veges too. Serve with well-cooked pasta for a complete meal.
Ingredients
2 carrots, grated
1 onion, finely diced
3 tsp minced garlic
3 frozen spinach balls, defrosted
1 Tbsp tomato puree
1 tsp each of oregano, basil, pepper
1 tin tomatoes
1 tin lentils, drained and rinsed
Method
Fry carrots, onion and garlic in a pan with a dash of olive for 5–10 minutes, until soft.
Add the remaining ingredients and cook for 10–15 minutes. Blend slightly or mash before serving.
Serve with well-cooked pulse pasta.
