Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Little Bites mobile app ("the app") and the website [juliascott.co.nz](https://juliascott.co.nz), both operated by Julia Scott ("we", "us", "our").

The short version

The Little Bites app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information about you or your child. Everything you log — foods, photos, reactions, notes — stays on your device.

What the app stores on your device

When you use Little Bites, the following information is saved locally on your iPhone or iPad and is never sent to us or any third party:

- Food log entries (foods tried, dates, reactions, symptoms, notes)

- Photos you attach to meals

- Custom foods and meals you create

- Settings, preferences, and your child's start date

- Course progress

This data lives in the app's private storage on your device. Deleting the app removes it permanently. We have no way to access, recover, or back it up for you.

What the app does not do

- No analytics or tracking SDKs

- No crash reporting tools

- No advertising or advertising identifiers

- No accounts, sign-in, or cloud sync

- No sharing of your data with third parties

Information sent over the internet

The app makes a small number of read-only network requests so it can show fresh content. None of these requests include personal information about you or your child:

- Recipes and articles are fetched from juliascott.co.nz (hosted on Squarespace).

- Course videos are streamed from Bunny.net's video delivery network.

- Notifications (such as retest reminders and milestone nudges) are scheduled locally on your device by iOS — we do not send push notifications from a server.

The companies that host these services (Squarespace and Bunny.net) may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) as part of normal web hosting, governed by their own privacy policies.

Purchases

The paid course is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple handles your payment and receipt — we never see your payment details. Apple's privacy practices are described at [apple.com/legal/privacy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/).

Children's privacy

Little Bites is designed for parents and caregivers to track their child's food journey. The app is not directed at children, does not knowingly collect information from children, and does not transmit any information about your child off your device.

The juliascott.co.nz website

The website uses standard Squarespace hosting, which collects basic visitor analytics (such as page views, referrer, and approximate location). See [Squarespace's privacy policy](https://www.squarespace.com/privacy) for details. The website does not use advertising trackers.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or hold any personal information about you through the app, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our end. You can clear all app data at any time by deleting the app from your device.

This policy complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and Apple's App Store privacy requirements.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data in a future update, we'll update this policy and change the effective date above.
