Blueberry Quinoa Porridge

This textured blueberry quinoa is a fantastic iron-rich breakfast for your baby. The quinoa provides great nutrition and a lovely texture, while the blueberries and banana add natural sweetness as well as potassium, vitamin C and antioxidants.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup quinoa

  • 2/3 cup water

  • 125g blueberries

  • 1 medium banana

Method

  1. Place quinoa in a fine sieve and rinse thoroughly under cold water. Drain well.

  2. Combine quinoa and water in a small pot, bring to the boil and then reduce heat and simmer for 12 minutes or until quinoa is tender and the water is absorbed. Cool.

  3. Mix with blueberries and mashed banana, or blend until smooth for puree texture.

  4. Can be poured into ice trays and frozen.

Serving Suggestion

Serve as a textured breakfast bowl for older babies, or blend smooth for younger ones.
